Here at Kind Danes we strive to make sure every puppy is ready for their new homes AND that their new homes are ready for them!
Waitlist and Registration:
We accept inquires prior to the birth and your name will be put on a waitlist. Once puppies are born, we will take deposits on pet marked puppies in the order of the waitlist. All show marked puppies are kept reserved until at least 6 weeks when structure can be reviewed. At 6 weeks, we will have an idea on who will go to pet homes and who will go to show homes; at that time, the homes will be contacted in waitlist order and deposits will need to be made. All deposits are non-refundable UNLESS something is to happen on our end with the particular puppy.
A contract will be given prior to any deposit being taken. After contract and deposit are received, you will be given access to your puppies portal in our Breeders Cloud Pro to view weights, pictures, shots, ext. All puppy buyers are welcome to request live videos with their puppies.
We DO NOT give full rights out to any home, we co-own all show prospects as well as some pet puppies. Pet puppies do receive limited registration papers and are encouraged to register their new puppy with AKC.
Shots/deworming/microchips
Deworming:
2 weeks- pyrantel
4 weeks- pyrantel
6 weeks- Safeguard (3 days) 8 weeks- Pyrantel
Shots:
5 weeks Neopar (parvo)
7.5 weeks 5-way
Your puppy will need their 12 and 16 week shots after they leave! We recommend not giving the rabies shot until AT LEAST 9 months of age as it has been known to cause issue with young Great Danes.
Microchips:
All puppies come with a microchip that I preregister, within the first week of your care, I will transfer ownership over to your name. Keeping your updated info on the microchip is very important if the puppy is lost.
While in our care:
At just a few days old we begin “Puppy Culture” (See below for definition of puppy culture. We supplement bottle feed if needed and we are with momma and puppies 24/7.
Through the puppy raising we expose puppies to all sounds and things that are used on a daily in a house such as vacuums, brooms, music, etc.
At about 4 weeks of age, we begin weaning from mom and introduce puppy mush to the babies. For show prospects we begin to train to stack. The puppies start to be introduced to their outside area with tons of climbing toys, pea gravel, and other things to help their joints develop correctly. We begin potty training by using fake grass and encouraging them to go outside on the real grass.
At around 6 weeks we generally pick our show prospects(We hold the right to take as much time as needed) Also around this time, we begin introducing the puppies to different animals such as chickens, they begin to meet new people, and other socialization things take place.
At 8 weeks, our puppies are ready for their new homes, they have a puppy go home bag that includes toys, pee pads, products that have been used and are useful, and some other little goodies.
Our journey does not end there, we LOVE puppy updates! We are always available for any questions, no judgement, and IF a situation arises where of can no longer keep your puppy, it is in your SIGNED contract that the puppy is to come back to us.

Prepping your Puppy Buyers
Puppy Culture offers a variety of DVD's, one that I highly recommend is "The Powerful First 12 weeks". For puppy owners it goes over the critical Socialization period, holding a safe and effective puppy party, how to find a good puppy class, vaccination vs. socialization, handling fear periods, leash walking, recall, crate & potty training, Training markers, Manding, preventing common behavior problems like resource guarding, separation anxiety, biting and jumping. DVD's "The Puppy Party" and "Puppy Scent Games" go into further detail.
For those raising a puppy to show "Stack and Deliver" and "Killer Free Stack" are wonderful! Really set a great foundation to start from and these tools can be implemented at any age. Also the basis for how the free stack is taught will also help with leash training, focus and basic obedience down the road.
"Attention is the Mother of all Behaviors" helps teach focus and redirection. This will help further a dogs training or "fix" behavioral issues.
